Wire an Ethernet RJ45 Crossover and Two-Line Phone

Just buy a normal Ethernet RJ45 8-wire pass-thru adapter (about $2 from Fry’s Electronics), pop it open, and swap wires numbered 1 with 3 and 2 with 6. The result is a crossover ethernet adapter.

If you have a two-Wire telephone (old-school) and wish to get it working, you might need to cross wire the two 4-wire telephone lines.
